Quote of the Week

Punctuality is a gift from God. I love to be on time.
- The tailor, in response to Phil's urging that he be on time to an appointment they were scheduling.

Your tailor and I would not be friends. I was born late, and it set a trend for the rest of my life.

Jim had a nurse from India, and we had much conversation regarding the fine country. She rolled her eyes, although when I initially asked her if she was from India or Pakistan, I could have sworn I saw sparks fly from her eyes.

Love,

Ruth

My parents say that people will be scheduled to come in the morning like the maid and people to fix things and they won't show up till late in the day. The timeline there is very different.

Yeah, it's incredible. That has been one of the challenging things about our stuggle to find a reliable maid. Someone needs to be at your house all the time in case the people that say they are coming actually come. Since everyone delivers it's actually a lot of people who are supposed to come to your house. If you're not here who knows when they might come again. You end up feeling really tied to the house.

Since coming here, I've been wondering more about what Indians in the US think of India and the US. I'll definitely be more inquisitive when I go home.

It is an elusive gift for me. I'm using that at the top of Benac.com, unless you object. Maybe it will help me do better.

I would add: "Our punctuality is our validation of another's worth. It is a gift we give to honor our fellow men."

But say what you will, it is an elusive gift.

Keep on bloggin', Kat. Maybe it will make you feel better to know we've got our eyes on you over there.

Thanks for reading and your encouragement Editor (and everyone else). It does help on the long days to know there are a few people who are wondering what we're up to.
